THYROID STATUS OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS WITH DIFFERENTIATED TYPES OF THYROID CANCER IN THE IODINE DEFICIENCY REGION

Annotatsiya

Thyroid carcinoma (TC) in children is the most common type of endocrine cancer. Objective: to assess the thyroid status of children and adolescents with TC. Materials and methods: general clinical, biochemical, hormonal data were collected from 27 children with TC, and a number of anthropometric, morphological and instrumental diagnostic studies were performed as well. Results: papillary histological subtype with a solid euthyroid node was diagnosed in 66.7% of cases in all children, with average TI-RADS values ​​of 4.2±0.2 and 4.14±0.34 according to Bethesda. Conclusions: papillary subtype with a solid euthyroid node predominates in children with differentiated TC under conditions of iodine deficiency in adolescence period.
