Annotatsiya

Despite the ongoing activities, the prevalence of iodine deficiency diseases (IDD) remains high in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The prevalence of endemic goiter decreased from 70% in 1998 to 31% in 2016 among the population of Uzbekistan. Employees of the RSNPMCE of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Surkhandarya region conducted several epidemiological studies, the last of which was carried out in 2012-2014 [2], to assess the severity of iodine deficiency using the sentinel method, which showed that in 2014 there was a significant decrease in the proportion of severe deficiency iodine (from 94.6% in 1998 to 3.9% in 2014). The optimal level of iodine consumption in 2014 was 60%, which means there is severe iodine deficiency. As a result of the above data, the purpose of this study was to study the prevalence of iodine deficiency diseases among the population of the Surkhandarya region of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
