Cervical cancer (CC) remains one of the most serious threats to women’s health, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, where late-stage diagnosis continues to be associated with high mortality rates. According to international epidemiological data, a significant proportion of cervical cancer cases can be prevented through effective screening programs, vaccination against the human papillomavirus (HPV), and timely detection of precancerous lesions. Conventional diagnostic methods currently used in clinical practice—cytological examination, colposcopy, and visual inspection—largely depend on the specialist’s experience, technical capabilities, and the level of healthcare infrastructure, which often leads to subjective diagnostic errors. In recent years, digital transformation and the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have opened new scientific and practical opportunities for improving the early detection of cervical cancer. AI-based diagnostic systems enable automated analysis of colposcopic images, improve the accuracy of triage among HPV-positive women, and reduce errors associated with the human factor. This article analyzes current scientific evidence on the application of artificial intelligence technologies in cervical cancer screening, evaluates their comparative effectiveness in relation to traditional diagnostic methods, and discusses prospects for their implementation in the healthcare system of the Republic of Uzbekistan based on international experience.
