Wolfram syndrome and Alström syndrome are rare monogenic autosomal recessive multisystem disorders that manifest in childhood or adolescence. Despite certain overlapping clinical features (such as early-onset diabetes mellitus, progressive visual and hearing impairment), these syndromes differ in their genetic causes, pathogenesis, clinical course, and prognosis. This article provides a comparative analysis of the two syndromes.
