The relevance of studying the epidemiological features and approaches to the prevention and treatment of dental diseases in deaf-mute children is determined by the high prevalence of dental pathologies in this group, which significantly exceeds similar indicators in children with normal hearing. Scientific studies show that caries and periodontal tissue diseases are 25-30% more common in deaf-mute children, which is due to a number of factors: limited access to dental care, insufficient awareness of the rules of oral care, as well as the peculiarities of sensory perception and behavior.
