Bladder exstrophy is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by non-closure of the lower part of the anterior abdominal wall and the bladder wall, which leads to exposure of the mucous membrane of the posterior wall of the bladder. Antenatal (prenatal) diagnostics of this pathology is of key importance for timely planning of pregnancy management, delivery, and for developing tactics of neonatal surgical correction. This article reviews modern methods of antenatal visualization of bladder exstrophy, differential diagnostics and approaches to counseling expectant parents.
