Objective: Comprehensive hygienic assessment of the actual nutrition of school-age children, assessment of products prohibited in the school menu and their impact on the children's body. Methods: The study involved 800 primary school children in the city of Samarkand and the Nurabad district of the Samarkand region. Depending on the objectives set, a range of hygienic, epidemiological, sociological, and statistical methods were used in conducting scientific research. Results: A study of actual food consumption showed a steady increase in schoolchildren's consumption of fast food and other products not recommended for children. When studying the nutritional value of food products for children of primary school age, it was noted that during the study period, protein consumption in both boys and girls decreased by 67.3% in the winter-spring period and by 69.0% in the summer-autumn period, while carbohydrate consumption increased by 144.6% in the winter-spring period and by 141.1% in the summer-autumn period, and fat consumption increased by 61.5% and 67.3%, respectively. Conclusion. An analysis of the actual nutrition of primary school children showed not only a low quantitative level, but also a discrepancy between the quality of food products and hygienic standards in almost all respects.
