TIME DEPENDENCE OF FORMATION OF HETEROMOLECULAR STRUCTURES IN AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS OF CERTAIN ORGANIC SOLVENTS

Annotatsiya

For the first time, the refractometry method was used to determine optical characteristics and concentration features of aqueous solutions of tetrahydrofurane, dimethylformamide and ethanol. Refractive indices of aqueous solutions of tetrahydrofuran, dimethylformamide and ethanol were measured in a wide range of component concentrations (~0−1.0 m.f.) at room temperature. It is shown that the formation of stable heteromolecular complexes in mixtures of tetrahydrofuran-water, dimethylformamide-water, ethanol-water depends on the storage time of solutions, and they are formed at the concentration of tetrahydrofuran, dimethylformamide and ethanol of 0.2−0.4 m.f. This is confirmed by the extreme values of the excess refractive index of aqueous solution’s components. This time dependence of the change of the mole fractions of the components may be an indication that the complete thermodynamic equilibrium state in the prepared solutions is established only after a sufficiently long storage time.
