The given article is about the origin of terms in the field of logistics in the East. When evaluating a word, it is necessary to take into account all its features. One of them is the etymology of words. The beginning of the evolution of logistics dates back to Ancient Greece, the Roman Empire, but the emergence and development of the Great Silk Road can be considered an earlier source. Of course, in the III-II centuries BC, the term "logistics" was not yet used, the history of the word "logistics" goes back to ancient Greece, which considered logistics "the art of calculation." The highest state officials who managed economic, commercial and financial activities were called logisticians. Also, the fact that trade relations were at a high level during the times of the Somonites and Karakhanids is also reflected in historical sources: “History of Bukhara” by Narshakhi, “Kutadgu Bilig” by Yusuf Khos Hadjib, “Devoni Lugotit Turk” by Mahmud Koshgari.
