Annotatsiya

Mass media play a crucial role in communicating medical information to the public. However, the accuracy and reliability of health-related content vary widely across different sources. Information disseminated through the media can significantly influence patients’ health-related decisions – from vaccination choices to the selection of medications. At the same time, such information shapes public perceptions and attitudes toward the healthcare system as a whole. Reporting on health issues requires a high level of professionalism. This involves the use of credible and evidence-based sources, as well as ensuring the confidentiality and independence of both information providers and recipients. Misinterpreted or inaccurately presented health information may create unfounded expectations or excessive fear, leading to negative consequences for public awareness and behavior. This article analyzes the positive and negative impacts of health journalism on society. It also discusses key challenges within the field, including the difficulties journalists face when preparing health-related news. The author outlines essential measures necessary for the accurate and effective dissemination of medical information.
