The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of text and its role in modern linguistics. The interrelation of language, context, and communication is considered a decisive factor in the complete understanding of text. The author interprets text not only as a linguistic unit but also as a socio-psychological and cultural phenomenon. In this regard, text is viewed as the central link of the communicative process, and its variability in form and content is examined in connection with social factors. The article discusses the theoretical foundations of text linguistics, cognitive and communicative approaches, as well as the semantic, pragmatic, and discursive features of text. Furthermore, based on a comparative study with modern linguistic approaches, the socio-cultural significance of text is revealed. Text is regarded as the product of the integration of language and thought, and it is shown to be an important communicative tool in shaping and preserving spiritual values within society. The theoretical views put forward in the article are of particular importance as they advance text linguistics to a new stage, broaden linguopragmatic research, and explain communicative processes with both theoretical and practical value. Therefore, the study is considered a reliable source for exploring pressing issues in linguistics. The research results further enrich the cognitive and pragmatic interpretation of text and open new directions for scholarly inquiry.
