Geographical expeditions were organized, and the results of the research led to a large-scale study of the geology, orography, soil, hydrography, climate, and water management of Khorezm. The work carried out is an important source for studying the ecology of not only Khorezm, but also Central Asia, ancient irrigation systems, and anthropogenic activity.
