DETERMINATION OF ISOTOPE ACTIVITY IN FISSION PRODUCTS OF NUCLEAR FUEL

Nuclear fuel of IRT-4M type was unloaded from the active core of the WWR-SM research reactor each time in different burn-ups. Activity of isotopes in fission products releasing from fuel assemblies were measured and compared with maximal acceptable values. As a result of measurement it was defined that the activity of all nuclides in fission products of nuclear fuel was below maximal acceptable level. It was defined that the activity of all nuclides in fission products of nuclear fuel increases with burn-up rise. It was concluded that nuclear fuel IRT-4M type can be used in the active core till the value more than 50% burn-up without any damage to operation and radiation condition at the reactor.
