This article extensively covers the issues of using the teacher’s professional competencies in the modern educational process. The teacher is considered not only as a provider of knowledge, but also as an important pedagogical subject that ensures the personal and social development of the student. The article analyzes the main professional competencies of the teacher - pedagogical, communicative, methodological, information technology and reflective competencies - from the point of view of their role in improving the quality of education.The study shows effective methods for implementing these competencies in the lesson process, including the use of interactive methods, a differentiated approach, problem-based learning, student self-assessment and reflection methods. It also considers the mechanisms for planning lessons and monitoring results based on a competency-based approach. At the end of the article, suggestions and recommendations are given for developing the teacher’s professional competencies, justifying the possibility of improving the quality and efficiency of education. This work serves as an important theoretical and practical resource for researchers, teachers, and methodologists conducting scientific research in the field of pedagogy.
