The article provides an in-depth analysis of the role and significance of a situation-oriented approach in developing communicative activity in the process of teaching the German language. In modern language teaching methodology, developing communicative competence is of great importance, and in this context, teaching based on real-life situations proves to be an effective method. Compared to traditional grammar-translation methods, a situational approach plays a crucial role in forming and strengthening learners’ communication skills. The article examines interactive methods that contribute to improving students’ language proficiency, including role-playing games, problem-based learning, group discussions, and practical exercises. These methods not only enhance grammatical knowledge but also develop phonetic, lexical, and pragmatic abilities. The research results indicate that situation-based teaching improves learners’ linguistic competence, helps them express their thoughts freely, engage in conversations on various topics, and develop both oral and written communication skills. Furthermore, this approach increases motivation and enhances interest in language learning. Therefore, the article extensively covers the theoretical and practical foundations of situational methods and substantiates their effectiveness.
