Annotatsiya

This article discusses the key concepts of ethnography and culture, focusing on the study of various ethnic groups, their origins, lifestyles, and values. Ethnography, as a scientific field, emerged in Europe during the 19th century but began earlier with travelers and researchers documenting different peoples. The article also highlights the relationship between ethnography and anthropology, explaining that while anthropology focuses on human biological characteristics, ethnography examines cultural aspects. It delves into the concept of “realities,” defining them as cultural elements embedded in language that reflect the unique characteristics of a nation. The article emphasizes the role of ethnographic methods, such as participant observation, in understanding a society’s cultural practices. Furthermore, it illustrates how ethnography and cultural studies contribute to understanding specific traditions, such as the Uzbek Navruz holiday or social rituals through linguistic analysis.
