This article examines the process of using the system of exercises and their typology in teaching Spanish and its impact on improving students' academic performance. The article examines the importance of the system and typology of exercises used in the formation, development and improvement of communicative competence in teaching foreign languages, especially Spanish, that is, the methodology of teaching language, receptive exercises, reproductive exercises and complex language exercises. as well as students' communicative and language skills. The effectiveness and advantages of the system and typology of developmental exercises are discussed. This article analyzes in detail the methodological aspects of using the system of exercises in teaching Spanish and its role in the educational process. Particular attention is paid to the system of exercises and their typology used in teaching foreign languages, especially Spanish, for the purpose of forming, developing and improving communicative competence. The article covers the following issues: the importance of the system of exercises in language teaching, receptive exercises for developing understanding through listening and reading, reproductive exercises for expressing one's opinion and developing skills in using language in practice, complex language exercises for developing several skills at the same time. Communicative competence reflects the possibilities of increasing students' academic achievements by combining various methods of developing students' speech skills. The article examines the system of exercises and its positive impact on students' motivation and success in learning a language. At the same time, the author emphasizes that when choosing exercises, they should correspond to the principle of gradation and the individual characteristics of students.
