This article analyzes the military-economic potential of the Soviet Union on the eve of World War II and during the first days of the war, as well as the impact of industrialization policies on the defense capability and combat readiness of the army. It also examines the system for transferring the industrial base to the east and the role of military-technical reforms in military strategy.
