The article reveals the history of Iran in the mid-twentieth century, when the country was gripped by a deep economic and political crisis. Against the backdrop of a decline in production and almost total foreign penetration into the country's economy, anti-Western protests by the Iranian people began. The article analyzes the events preceding the crisis of power, when the Majlis, led by its leader Mohammad Mossadegh, proclaimed the beginning of liberal reforms and the nationalization of the oil industry.
