This article examines the artistic interpretation of autobiographical elements and their role in the poetics of Philip Roth’s novel The Ghost Writer. By transferring his personal life experiences, creative reflections, and inner conflicts into the artistic space through the protagonist, the author deliberately blurs the subtle boundaries between selfhood and creativity. The study analyzes the convergence of authorial and character identification characteristic of postmodern literature, as well as the processes through which autobiographical truth merges with artistic fiction. Particular attention is paid to the representation of the creative process, the writer’s internal dialogues, and the formation of Jewish American cultural identity as the principal semantic layers of the work. Through the example of the novel, the article substantiates the role of autobiographical elements as an aesthetic device that enriches artistic thinking.
