The main purpose of this article is to interpret the views of world linguists on the text and its content, as well as its perception as a source of communication; in this regard, the research of primarily European scholars is widely presented. If the text is regarded as the main source of linguistic communication, it becomes evident that scholars primarily emphasize the connections between sentences within the text. For information to be coherent and comprehensible, due attention must be given to linguistic codes. Linguists have stressed that syntagmatics and the syntagm underlying it require a clear understanding of syntagmatic relations in order to distinguish textual coherence from pronunciation realized in the same linear sequence. The interconnection of sentences within a text, resembling a tightly woven thread, gives rise to relationships of both proximity and interaction.
