This article provides a comparative analysis of Abdulhamid Chulpan’s novel Night and Day and Theodore Dreiser’s An American Tragedy. The primary focus is on the artistic depiction of social inequality in both works. The study examines the social structure of society, economic injustice, the influence of environmental conditions on the individual, and the artistic expression of the consequences of inequality. It is established that, despite differences in culture and era, both books share a common theme: a critique of social inequality.
