This article semantically analyzes proverbs in unrelated languages - German and Uzbek. Proverbs are one of the oldest and most content-rich layers of oral folk art, expressing the worldview, culture, and mentality of a nation. The research examines the general semantic fields, semantic shifts, conceptual foundations, and symbolic interpretations of German and Uzbek proverbs. Additionally, the study of proverbs draws upon theories of various scholars, including W. Mieder, V. Telia, Sh. Rahmatullayev, and other researchers.
