The dynamics of power relations highlight how authority and dominance shape characters’ destinies, social structures, and cultural narratives. Ideology functions as a framework of values, beliefs, and discourses that justify, normalize, or contest these relations, often manifesting in literature as subtle rhetorical strategies, symbolic motifs, and thematic constructs. The individual emerges not only as a recipient of power and ideology but also as an agent capable of negotiation, resistance, or conformity. In Uzbek literature, ideological pressures are often articulated through historical, national, and cultural identities, whereas English literature foregrounds individual autonomy, existential struggles, and class dynamics. A comparative perspective reveals convergences in the depiction of oppression, freedom, and self-expression, while also uncovering divergences shaped by distinct historical trajectories. Such an approach provides insights into universal literary archetypes and context-specific ideological paradigms.
