This article comprehensively covers the psychological and pedagogical features of forming self-development competencies in future primary school teachers. The article substantiates the relevance of forming a creative, independent, and professionally mature pedagogical personality that meets modern educational requirements. The author analyzed historical and theoretical views on self-development of personality, indicating such psychological factors as self-government, self-esteem, self-analysis, motivation, and stress resistance as important factors in the development of competence. Also, pedagogical approaches highlight the importance of teaching in accordance with the individual characteristics of students, using active teaching methods, a system of mentoring and counseling. The article systematically describes the methods, trainings, interactive sessions, and mechanisms of psychological and pedagogical support necessary for teachers' professional growth. As a result, the need for a comprehensive approach to the formation of self-development competence in future teachers has been substantiated.
