This article analyzes the use of metadiscourse markers in English and Uzbek scientific discourse. Metadiscourse elements are considered as tools shaping the interaction between author and reader within academic texts. Through comparative analysis of corpora in both languages, the study explores the frequency, function, and stylistic features of interactive and interpersonal markers. The paper relies on theoretical frameworks by Hyland, Crismore, and Vande Kopple to uncover the functional-stylistic and cognitive characteristics of academic discourse.
