Persian literature, one of the richest and most ancient literary traditions in the world, has profoundly influenced global culture and intellectual thought. Spanning thousands of years, it encompasses a wide array of genres, including poetry, prose, epic narratives, and philosophical works. Its hallmark lies in its intricate integration of mysticism, romance, and ethics, captivating audiences far beyond the Iranian plateau. This article highlights the contributions of Persian literature to world literature, with a focus on the works of luminaries such as Firdawsi, Rumi, Saʻdi, Hafez, and Omar Khayyam.
