This article analyzes the challenges in assessing written language competence of students from non-linguistic faculties in the context of digitalization. The study reveals the specifics of analyzing, verifying, observing, and evaluating written English language skills among students of non-language specialties. The main causes of difficulties in the assessment system are explored, while attempting to clarify concepts such as method, type, form, test, and evaluation. The article aims to determine effective methods for assessing professionally-oriented writing skills, as well as to identify and comparatively analyze the principles of evaluating written language proficiency in non-linguistic students. Addressing this issue allows for the assessment of both basic and specific language skills development in students studying English as a foreign language.
