This scientific article provides a comparative analysis of the work of the American writer O. Henry and his influence on the development of American literature. The study is designed to evaluate the features of the style and themes of O. Henry’s stories, as well as their similarities and differences with other works of American writers. The authors of the article analyze not only the texts of the stories, but also the context in which they were created in order to identify the influence of O. Henry on modern literature and culture
