Central Asian countries are seeking to strengthen regional cooperation and define strategic priorities in the field of information security in order to develop a legislative framework and prevent cybercrime. With the digitalization of public services, artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to protect personal data and digital information, as well as to support online monitoring. This article highlights the political and legal aspects of cybersecurity issues arising from the development of artificial intelligence in Central Asia, the processes of legal regulation, and the impact of artificial intelligence on information security. It proposes developing a regional mechanism for regulating artificial intelligence in Central Asia, strengthening cybersecurity cooperation with the SCO and BRICS countries, and developing measures aimed at improving the positions of Central Asian countries in the Government AI Readiness Index of Oxford Insights.
