This article examines the object of study in linguacultural studies and axiolinguistics, focusing on the methods used to approach this object, as well as the commonalities and differences between these two fields. It describes the philosophical and social essence of the phenomenon of value and provides a definition from a linguacultural perspective, emphasizing the importance of investigating values within this framework. The article also demonstrates that linguacultural studies regards language as both a means and an embodiment of culture, exploring it not only as an expression of values but also as a carrier of national and cultural norms, stereotypes, and cultural codes. By defining national values as meaningful, ideal phenomena that receive positive evaluation in a nation’s life—driving aspirations, regulating social relations, and eliciting positive emotions—this study underscores how values extend beyond mere objects (e.g., tangible items or monuments) and reveals their deeper essence. Finally, drawing on these theoretical foundations, the article analyzes one of the Uzbek people’s significant social values—friendship—and uncovers the cultural norms and stereotypes associated with it.
