This article examines the essence of the adaptive-creative principle within the system of culture as a whole and in artistic design in particular. The intellectual and aesthetic assimilation of reality presupposes, first and foremost, adaptation to its conditions for the purpose of subsequent transformation, which reveals the adaptive-creative nature of this process.
