This article examines the revival of folk crafts in the Nurota oasis, focusing in particular on embroidery as one of the fields of fine and applied art developing on the basis of long-standing historical traditions. Historical embroidery is analyzed with regard to its artistic motifs and compositional features, as well as the place of fine arts within the development of embroidery traditions. The article also highlights that prominent artists of their time created design templates for embroidery, and such works were highly valued and elevated to the level of high art.
