This article analyzes the key challenges faced in teaching English in higher education institutions and explores modern pedagogical approaches to addressing these issues. The study also highlights the effectiveness of competency-based education grounded in the CEFR framework, differentiated instruction, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence tools in improving English language teaching. The findings of the research contribute to the development of practical recommendations aimed at enhancing the quality and effectiveness of English language education in higher education.
