The article analyzes the legal mechanisms in the field of environmental protection in the Republic of Uzbekistan. It notes that environmental legislation mainly consists of sectoral laws and by-laws, as well as environmental provisions contained in administrative, civil, local government, and other sectoral legislation. The article substantiates the necessity of adopting an Environmental Code from both scientific and practical perspectives in order to systematize this legislation and ensure its consistency.
