This article presents a historical, etymological, and lexical-semantic analysis of clothing names in the vocabulary of Alisher Navoi's work Sabai Sayyor, as used in Old Turkic, Old Turkish, and Old Uzbek literary languages. Additionally, the names of clothing items are categorized into internal groups, and cognates of both native and borrowed lexemes—such as Persian + Arabic, Turkish + Arabic, and Arabic + Persian—are identified. Each lexical unit in the synonymous series is examined with its nuances of meaning.
