This article conducts a discursive analysis of the lexemes "white, black" and "aq, qara" in the English and Karakalpak languages. Analysis of the collected material reveals that the lexemes "white, black" and "aq, qara" carry complex semantic content, feature high-frequency usage, and can combine with nouns from various classes. They actively express their lexical-grammatical and lexical-semantic functions. These comparable lexemes belong to the core lexical-semantic layer of the respective languages and are part of their foundational vocabulary. Consequently, "white, black" and "aq, qara" are widely conceptualized in both Karakalpak and English. Additionally, these lexemes acquire unique linguistic and cultural meanings in various expressions and contexts. In Karakalpak linguistic culture, the color "white" in clothing often symbolizes "bride, wedding dress, or wedding (for girls)," representing themes of "happiness" and "love." The motif of happiness is particularly evident in the contextual use of "aq" in wedding ceremony descriptions. Furthermore, these lexemes serve specific stylistic functions within discourse. The discursive study of "white, black" and "aq, qara" indicates that their semantic structures include symbols that become activated in context, depending on their denotative class. These findings highlight the linguistic, cultural, and semantic nuances of the concepts of "aq" and "white" in Karakalpak and English.
