The article discusses the emergence of cognitive science in the latter decades of the 20th century and its focus on the exploration of human knowledge about the world and the processes of comprehending this information through consciousness. It also notes that the rapid advancement in cognitive science has led to the development of a new branch of linguistics - linguistic conceptology, which is dedicated to the study of concepts. Despite the extensive research in this field, the text suggests that the intrinsic nature of concepts, their typology, and the issues related to their interpretation remain pressing areas that require deeper investigation.
