Pedagogical education is considered a consistent, continuous, systematically organized process during a certain period - bachelor's or master's period - on the basis of a specific goal of improving students' competencies related to family economics. In the article, the principles that gain priority in the pedagogical activities aimed at this goal in improving the competencies of students in the process of pedagogical education are analyzed.
