This article examines the effectiveness of metacognitive strategies in developing English writing skills among senior students (grades 10–11) in general education schools in Uzbekistan. Although effective English writing is important for academic and professional success, many students face difficulties in developing this skill. The purpose of the article is to determine the impact of teaching metacognitive strategies on the quality of students’ written work and their strategic approach. The article also offers practical recommendations for integrating metacognitive strategies into English language teaching programs.
