This article provides a comparative analysis of the pedagogical concepts of Carl Rogers and Maria Montessori, both aimed at developing the child’s personality by creating a humanistic educational environment. The study identifies common principles in their approaches—respect for individuality, freedom of choice, and learners’ intrinsic motivation. Rogers’s approach emphasizes the teacher’s role as facilitator, fostering self-realization through empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. The Montessori method emphasizes the child’s independent activity in a specially prepared environment, where learning is grounded in sensory experience and a natural desire for knowledge. The comparative analysis shows that both theories promote the development of autonomous, responsible, and creative individuals, while differing in methods for organizing the educational process and in the role adults play within it.
