The article examines the development of the epistolary work in world literature, including the opportunity to present the study of novels as an art form. We are talking about the unique features of the epistolary genre, which make it possible to illuminate the historical, social, everyday reality from an individual perspective, the fate of the hero taken in historical reality, and which allows us to reveal the human psyche.
