The article examines the legal framework and methodology for determining damages (property damage and compensation for moral harm) caused during the provision of medical services in the Republic of Uzbekistan. It focuses on the combination of contractual (as a consumer service) and non-contractual (tort) liability of medical organizations and their employees, the role of medical care standards, informed consent, and doctor-patient confidentiality as legally significant factors in qualifying violations, the evidentiary value of forensic medical examinations, the composition and calculation of compensable losses (direct expenses, lost earnings, care and rehabilitation costs), as well as criteria for assessing moral harm. The regulatory basis comprises provisions of the Civil Code (including Articles 1017-1022, 989), the Law "On Protection of Citizens' Health," the Law "On Consumer Rights Protection," subordinate acts of the Ministry of Health regarding standards and procedures for providing care, and clarifications from the Plenum of the Supreme Court on issues of moral harm compensation. This article will be valuable for both healthcare market professionals and researchers engaged in the legal protection of patients.
