Today, mathematical modeling is becoming more important in studying digital signal processing and image reconstruction problems. In modern information technologies, spline functions often give better results than classical interpolation methods. In this paper, we compare two types of splines: the Hermite spline, which has local properties, and the natural cubic spline, which provides global smoothness. We analyze how effective they are in two-dimensional interpolation problems. The paper studies how the Hermite spline works with function values and first derivatives in adaptive image resampling.
