This article presents a review of existing battery technologies used in battery energy storage systems, with particular emphasis on their technical characteristics, operational limitations, and suitability for integration into low-voltage networks with distributed photovoltaic generation. the main battery types, including lead-acid, lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and redox flow batteries, are systematically compared. based on defined technical and economic criteria, the most appropriate battery technology for reducing phase imbalance and power losses in low-voltage networks with integrated photovoltaic systems is identified and justified.
