This article analyzes the theoretical and legal aspects of legal privileges, the purpose of granting privileges, that is, what tasks are aimed at through privileges, and the issue of the proportionality of privileges to the principle of social justice from a theoretical and legal point of view. To maintain a balance between legal privileges and the principle of social justice in society, it is important to ensure equality, justice, and stability. The article analyzes the definitions given by scientists to the concept of privilege and their differences from each other. The theoretical and legal differences between the terms privileges and special privileges are considered. The author, using the experience of foreign countries, put forward a number of proposals for maintaining a balance between legal privileges and the principle of social justice.
