Currently, the interaction between law enforcement agencies, including internal affairs bodies, and civil society institutions, as well as the improvement of mechanisms for legal regulation of their relations, is gaining increasing relevance. The article analyzes the subjects and powers of public oversight over the administrative activities of internal affairs bodies. At the same time, including public oversight of compliance with legislative requirements in internal affairs bodies' activities among the powers of public councils created within these bodies necessitates the full implementation of mechanisms for conducting public oversight.
