The oil and gas industry is one of the key sectors of the global economy, requiring international cooperation, technology exchange, and competition in global markets. For specialists in the oil and gas sector in Uzbekistan, knowledge of foreign languages is crucial for their professional development. Therefore, the methodology for teaching foreign languages in technical schools is of particular importance. Data collection was carried out through surveys and interviews with teachers and students in vocational schools and technical institutes providing specialization in the oil and gas fields. The survey questions were designed to assess the effectiveness of current foreign language teaching methods and their alignment with the needs of the oil and gas sector. Specifically, by teaching foreign languages in the oil and gas industry, we create opportunities for our youth to acquire technical knowledge based on international standards, understand technical literature, standards, and documents in English, and develop effective communication skills to work internationally. The research results show a high demand for foreign language knowledge among specialists in the oil and gas industry. The majority of respondents (85%) stated that knowledge of English significantly enhances their professional opportunities. Moreover, 78% of students emphasized that understanding foreign languages provides better access to international research materials and allows them to participate in global discussions on industry innovations. This article discusses the requirements for oil and gas specialists in modern conditions and the role of foreign languages in their professional training.
