This article discusses the theoretical and methodological foundations ofdeveloping independent thinking skills in students through teaching the topic "Speech" in primaryschool native language classes. The study analyzes the advantages of organizing the process ofmastering syntactic knowledge based on a competency-based approach. The article presentsmethodological recommendations developed on the basis of problem-based learning, interactivemethods, a communicative approach and reflective activity. The results of the study show thatteaching syntactic concepts in primary education using modern pedagogical technologiesincreases educational effectiveness.
