This article analyzes the concept of alimony relations complicated by a foreign element. It examines issues of conflict-of-law regulation of alimony obligations involving a foreign element. The paper discusses the regulation of alimony relations with a foreign element in private international law. Problems related to cross-border alimony relations are studied, and their root causes are identified. International documents concerning the regulation of alimony relations complicated by a foreign element are also examined.
